What is a Design Proof for Vehicle Graphics?
Design proofs are your best friend in the vehicle graphics process. We prepare your proofs 100% to make you happy and successful. It allows you to review what the wrap will look like before it’s produced and installed on your car, truck or van. It also gives us a chance to review all the information and make sure no details are overlooked. There is no better way to ensure everyone is on the same page and to verify that everything looks exactly the way you want. Our process keeps you in the driver seat, as nothing is produced until you are 100% satisfied with your design.
What to Look for On a Vehicle Wrap Design Proof
The right vehicle. Before anything else, look carefully at your proof to see that it is the correct vehicle represented on the design. This sounds super basic, but we have had clients come to us completely frustrated with other vehicle wrap companies only to discover that the basic design they were presented with would never have been possible to replicate on their vehicle - all because the wrong vehicle design template was used.
Be critical. Do not accept or overlook missing variations for your vehicle layout. Commonly overlooked areas include, extended vs regular wheel base, crew vs regular cab, high roof vs regular roof, etc.
The design proof should display the design from all the sides of the vehicle, each from a straight-on perspective. This means being able to see how the graphics lineup and how big they look on the vehicle. Some companies include 3D visuals in their design proof created using a photoshop rendering add on. Others use illustrations to display the final layout. Either way, use this as an opportunity to critically examine all the "real estate" on your vehicle and make sure your design is achieving your objectives. At a minimum, do not accept a design that does not show you how your design will look on both driver and passenger sides of the vehicle. It might surprise you how much a design needs to be adapted to the reverse side of a vehicle.
Look for information and call outs with size and scale. Based on the measurements we take of your vehicle, we include the sizing of all graphics being put onto the vehicle. We size them proportionally in the image so you have an idea of how big they will look. You should also be able to determine the size of the proposed text as it will be represented on your vehicle. This will help you determine how legible your information will be to passing viewers on the road.
The names of the designer and your customer success representative. This is a small detail we think is critically and "culturally" important. We are proud of our work, but also personally accountable for our work. If you have a question or concern about your design we want to give you the shortest possible path to a direct answer. Did you ever play the "telephone game" as a child where you whispered something in someone's ear and they whispered it to the person next to them, and then they whispered to the next person - and it quickly became a confusing unintelligible mess. Nobody wants to have that type of experience when making design changes. Working directly with the designer and CSR gives you a quick direct line to the source, so if you reference a prior version or discussion, it is easy for everyone to understand exactly what you mean.
Your logo and information included on your final graphics. You can use your proof to verify that the right logo is used, that your phone number and web address are correct, and that the correct products and services are displayed in your design. It is wise to check for spelling or information errors as you go. We have our team look to make sure there aren’t any, but we are only human - so your critical review is important.
Always remember, proofs are your friends. At times they may seem a little tedious going back for edits and changes, but a few minutes here and there to verify that everything is perfect is well worth the time. We have them so that you can be happy and take your time deciding exactly what is right, so let us know if you want anything changed on your proofs.

Those criteria typically include price, materials, and installation experience. These are all super important. But the care a company takes in designing and communicating with you is equally important. Learn more getting a high quality wrap.
